A Vintage Girl With Glasses

On display today is my #1 trick when it comes to vintage shopping: a big ol hem. It takes a bit of imagination, but many a dress or skirt in a thrift shop can be made more modern day & less dowdy by chopping a good few inches off the bottom at your local tailor. With a high neck & long sleeves, this uber conservative sheth got an update that's a little more feminine & flirty:

Something else that got an update? My glasses! Yegads my glasses were practically from the 90's. I'm so late to the cute hipster girl classes party, but no one panic, I've arrived. And in Presidential style, thanks to Benji Frank Eyewear whose frames are all named after Presidents. The West Wing nerd in me was sold! And thanks to those of you on Instagram who helped me pick the Trumans! This politics & fashion nerd has never looked so smart.
