Sunday Brunch Style

During Fashion Week I was so honored to be shot by one of my favorite photogs & bettys, Kat Harris of The Refined Woman. First of all, if this is your first introduction to The Refined Woman, go check it out. Kat & Emily are two classy ladies! Second, we were shooting looks for the new shoe brand Olivia Childs.

What's the secret to pulling off a skirt this short & flirty with bare legs? These shoes.

They're neutral {they've got a little sparkle which I love} & they're flat {with a cushy platform designed so a city gal can walk around all day}. A flip flop would be too casual, a heel would having you teetering on the Real Housewife look. But a neutral ballet flat, let's you get away with murder when it comes to a hemline as short as you're comfortable with.

My friend Sarah texted, "I've decided on my sartorial vision for spring: Legs. For days." Should you choose to join her, here's the secret: high-waists & emphasizing them with bright skinny belts. Notice how much your eye goes to the yellow belt. And then notice that thanks to emphasizing my natural waist {just under your ribs} instead of my low waist, I can change my body percentage from 50/50 top/bottom to 33/66. Legs. For days. Go forth with a little wiggle in your walk.

If you had a to pick a sartorial direction for spring what would it be? Personally I can't get enough florals right now but can't seem to find them in stores. So I'm on the hunt. What are you oh so ready for?
