A Winter Date in NYC

As a girl growing up in California, I only saw snow in the movies. When I was 22 & on the 1st National Tour of "42nd Street" my sister & I saw snowflakes for the first time, & discovered that it's not just artistic license, they really DO look like snowflakes! We thought they were just little dots like in Charlie Brown cartoons. Yup. My Michigander parents were horrified they had neglected this life lesson.

Not only do I feel like I'm the lead in a Nora Ephron film every time it snows, I have found a new happiest of happy places: My rootop on a crisp snow day, sipping hot coffee, bundled in a wool blanket, catching up on Betty, Vogue & GQ magazines.

Best of all, none of my neighbors had ventured upstairs last week during Hurricane Nemo, so every step of snow was mine to crunch for the first time. Heaven.

P.S. Speaking of happy places, I did my first webinar last month & discovered that they're one of my new favorite things!

I'm hosting my second this Friday at 12pm EST on a topic I've NEVER discussed publicly:
