Couple Style on the Road

This week's wrap-up of the style behind VPL includes episode #3 "Couple Style" & #4 "Travel" which included a combination of clothing pulled for the show & my own closet.

Episode 3: Couple Style

This outfit for Couple Style came right from my own little closet & was seen here in a photo shoot with Bess Friday.

I definitely like it better in photos, as under the set lighting the muted jewel tones look far too muted for my taste. {I think my expression top right sums that up.}

PRO: Love how my color & checks pairs with Hanks neutrals & stripes {think engagement shoot or family photos}. And I'm a big fan of a menswear style button down like this on almost every girl & every body type.

CON: If you're unsure what light you're going to be in, the brighter the better is probably true.

Episode 4: Travel Style

I love this travel ensemble! While I wouldn't wear this on a plane, this is a great tourist look: flowy top, cigarette pants, flats & a scarf to save you getting-ready-time so you can see more sites. Chic, but not fussy.

PRO: Love breaking up the color blocking of the top & pants with a patterned scarf. It's usually that 3rd piece that makes it an "outfit". Also love that the basic blue tames down the bright orange top so it doesn't feel too much.

CON: This top is probably too delicate to actually travel in due to the fabric {visions of rumpledness post-nap}, but I think the floaty silhouette is right on track.

P.S. And in case you missed it, I loved the travel episode bloopers! Classic peek at what it's like behind the scenes. Also, please note Hank's excessive reaction to my knocking over a cup.
