Becoming Jackie Kennedy

Today's outfit post is brought to you by our most iconic First Lady of style, Miss Jackie Kennedy. Tomorrow you'll see what all our guests for the Presidents Day Soiree arrived as, but I thought I'd start with the inspiration for the party, as it's always based on a dress I want the chance to wear & this was no exception!

Wardrobe:Dress: Vintage from Brick Lane in London, $40; Pillbox Hat: Thrifted in New Haven CT, $10; Gloves: Thrifted in Prospect Heights Brooklyn, $5; Necklace: Gift, Shoes: DSW; Button: ordered on Amazon in bulk for the party & printed on the computer

Hair Tutorial:With a ratting comb, dry shampoo & hairspray I teased, teased, teased my hair as large as absolutely possible. After very lightly smoothing the top, I took a faux hair piece from the beauty supply store ($4) & placing it at the ends of my hair, rolled it up as you would a towel to the base of my neck. I secured it with wig pins (like open bobby pins but 3x as long) & shelacked the whole thing with hair spray once more.

P.S. Here's a little post-party photo shoot shenanigans with Bestie & Brother. There was not a storyline happening, but I'm thinking Lady Gaga meets a late night rendezvous between Ladybird, Andrew Jackson & Miz Kennedy ...
